Going to the bank can be a real pain; there’s a long line at the counter, a longer line at the ATM, and someone stole all the pens you need for filling out bank forms. Luckily, online banking can save you time and trouble. But are you making the most of what you can get from your banking tools? Here are a few key things good online banking will let you do.

The Basics

Most online systems let you easily check your account balances, and transfer money from your savings to checking with a few easy clicks. You can also make payments via the online banking tool; this is functional for both paying monthly bills as well as making loan payments. If you use the HRCCU app, you can also deposit checks directly from your phone by simply snapping a picture of the front and back and hitting submit, at which point it begins processing instantly.

What Else Can I Do?

Online banking offers multiple other features that make it even deeper and more useful for you. If you’ve sent out a check, but soon afterward realize that you need to cancel it, there’s an online “stop-payment request” feature. You can also request copies of your checks and view digital scans of your checks online, which makes keeping track of deposits and payments a whole lot easier.

We’ve also built a personal alert system into our online banking; if your account balance goes above or below your set amount, you will be automatically alerted, and can take action if necessary. This feature can also be set to trigger if an important deposit clears your account- you’ll know that important funds are available right away. If you use an external software for your finance management, you can easily export your transactions into that software to keep your books in order, or you can categorize your transactions internally using HRCCU online banking.
