Even if you don’t find everything that adds up to a full costume, you can always hit some thrift stores to find inexpensive additions, which means an inexpensive costume opportunity.
If you’re trying to use clothes that you already have with some thrift store finds, try to build a costume idea around something fairly simple.

2. Get Creative
If you’re more artistically inclined, pick up the scissors and paint.
There are a ton of costume possibilities you make with just some cheap household items and an adventurous mind.

Face paint is affordable and can turn you into a spooky skeleton in no time — and if you already have makeup on hand you might not even need it.
Other fun costume ideas you can whip off with just a bit of makeup and face paint are a mermaid, clown, or the grim reaper.
